After an agonizing wait of several whole minutes, a Central Texas woman dialed 911 when a fast-food restaurant took too long with her order, according to Waco police.
The woman had ordered chicken nuggets and demanded she get them for free due to the wait, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said. McDonald’s employees told police the woman was acting “belligerent.”
“I’m not going anywhere until I get my chicken nuggets,” the woman told the 911 operator.
Swanton says the woman blocked the drive-thru lane at McDonald’s and lashed out at employees, one of whom made a 911 call of their own.
The sergeant took to the Waco Police Department Facebook page after the incident to express his bewilderment over the call, even coining a new hashtag:
Yes it happens!! We actually had the chicken nugget call last night! Officers called to a restaurant drive-thru because a customer was mad her nuggets didn’t get cooked quick enough and why she couldn’t get them for free.
Yes we went on this call. No…she did not get them for free. Yes we actually tied up two officers on this call.

“I can assure you the Waco PD has better things to do on a Friday night at 11 o’clock,” Swanton told MySanAntonio.com on Monday.
The woman, who was not identified, was given a refund and asked to leave, nugget-less.
