Idiocracy Is Here: Australia Is Putting in French Fry Vending Machines

I write all the time about how the film Idiocracy is no longer a fiction film, but a documentary. We’re living in it right now. Kind of the same way that George Orwell’s [amazon text=1984&asin=0451524934] used to be a novel, but now it’s an instruction manual.

But this particular story is literally straight out of Idiocracy. Via ABC:

A Perth-based company says it is behind Australia’s first commercial rollout of hot chip vending machines.

The Hot Chips Company has spent more than five years developing the vending machines alongside WA potato processor Bendotti Exporters…

“You put your money in and it goes from frozen to the fryer and in your cup within two minutes and 20 seconds,” Mr Bendotti said.

Those of you who have seen the film and are awake to the ridiculous nature of the modern world we are living in will appreciate this very important milestone.
