Departing sunspot AR1682 has not lost its magnetic field but any flares today would not hit the Earth square on. NOAA estimate the chance of M class flares at 10% over the next 24 hours and the chance of an X class flare at 0.1% over the same period.

There are likely to be geo magnetic storms over the next 24 hours as the solar wind blowing from a large coronal hole reaches our atmosphere.
