The Mainstream Media, The Deep State, Hollywood, And Establishment Republicans All Cheer Doug Jones Stunning Senate Victory In Alabama

Democrat Doug Jones has won the Alabama Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions in a stunning upset that was aided by accusations of sexual assault levied against his opponent Roy Moore and establishment Republicans abandoning their own parties candidate in favor of the pro gun control former prosecutor.

The upset gave a previously “unimagined” victory for Democrats while moving the Republicans Senate majority to a single seat which will directly hurt the populist Trump agenda while helping the establishment on both sides of the aisle.

The New York Times reported:

Mr. Jones’s victory could have significant consequences on the national level, snarling Republicans’ legislative agenda in Washington and opening, for the first time, a realistic but still difficult path for Democrats to capture the Senate next year. It amounted to a stinging snub of President Trump, who broke with much of his party and fully embraced Mr. Moore’s candidacy, seeking to rally support for him in the closing days of the campaign.

Amid thunderous applause from his supporters at a downtown hotel, Mr. Jones held up his victory as a message to Washington from voters fed up with political warfare. For once, he said, Alabama had declined to take “the wrong fork” at a political crossroads.

“We have shown the country the way that we can be unified,” Mr. Jones declared, draping his election in the language of reconciliation and consensus. “This entire race has been about dignity and respect. This campaign has been about the rule of law.”

Propelled by a backlash against Mr. Moore, an intensely polarizing former judge who was accused of sexually assaulting young girls, Mr. Jones overcame the state’s daunting demographics and deep cultural conservatism. His campaign targeted African-American voters with a sprawling, muscular turnout operation, and appealed to educated whites to turn their backs on the Republican Party.

McClatchy also noted how important this win was for the anti-Trump agenda:

Yet Jones’ victory over Republican Roy Moore also comes as a relief to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. McConnell championed Moore’s primary opponent and called on the nominee to leave the race after several women came forward to complain that Moore had pursued them as teenagers.

The GOP struggled throughout 2017 when it controlled 52 of the 100 seats in the Senate. Tuesday’s loss is sure to boost the influence of maverick Republican senators such as Susan Collins of Maine, who was one of three Republicans to oppose the Senate’s latest effort to repeal the 2010 Affordable Care Act.

Collins has played a critical role in the current tax debate as well, insisting that she has an agreement with leadership that legislation to reinstate cost-sharing payments to insurance companies passes before the tax bill is complete. House conservatives have opposed the measure, but Collins says she’s talked to President Donald Trump about getting it done.

House and Senate Republicans are trying to hammer out the details on a sweeping tax plan with the goal of delivering it to the White House for Trump’s signature by Christmas. McConnell insisted Tuesday that the unusual speed of the negotiations is unrelated to the prospect of losing a critical vote.

That vote, though, could matter in 2018 as programs that have traditionally attracted some Republican support will be on the schedule. Immigration reform is expected to be on the Senate’s agenda. Conservatives will push for more spending restraint. Environmental programs will be debated.

Predictably, the same forces who have fought Donald Trump since the beginning are all cheering Jones stunning upset – From Hollywood to the deep state, all the way to Rhino Republicans, the establishment is clearly happy.

Pro-amnesty advocates are also cheering Jones victory.

All across the establishment, anti-Trump media, Jones victory is being hailed as a direct attack on the president when in reality he won an election by an extremely close margin against a candidate that the media spent a month calling a pedophile.

It is important to note that if (and thats a BIG if) the allegations against Moore were true then obviously he should not be in Congress. With that being said, the liberal media never actually cared whether or not Moore was guilty (as evidenced by their support of liberals like Bill Clinton) rather they only cared that his loss could hurt a president that they openly stand against.

Whether you supported Roy Moore or not, the election of Democrat Doug Jones to the Senate is only a good thing if you are against the 2nd Amendment, for amnesty, and want Donald Trump impeached.
