Social Media Reacts To Trump’s Late Night Tweet. What Is ‘Covfefe?’

Donald Trump’s antics seem to be the source of many laughs on social media lately. Last night’s late tweet was no different either, and much like the orb pictures, social media wasn’t easy on him.

At least Trump’s tweets and glowing orb pictures provide us all with one thing – unity through laughter. It doesn’t matter who one did or did not vote for, the entire nation is finding his antics to be humorous. His latest tweet began “despite the constant negative covfefe.”  The tweet was caught and has since been deleted, but there are several screenshots of the gaffe.

Trump posted this tweet shortly after midnight, and by 1 am, Twitter caught on and it became a social media frenzy. It certainly looks unfinished, and what the heck is “covfefe?”

Judging by the tone and implication, “covfefe” was simply a typo which should read “coverage.” (My spellcheck continues to try to correct the word to “coverage.”) But that doesn’t explain why Trump’s tweet ended abruptly. And it didn’t go unnoticed by Twitter users.

But Twitter users didn’t stop. They made jokes about the former F.B.I. director James Covfefe. They pledged to order a grande “covfefe’ during their next Starbucks runs and they also announced the, at last, last discovered what Bill Murray whispered to Scarlett Johansson at the end of “Lost in Translation.”

And as the hour wore on, late into the night, the comments continued.  After six hours of being up online, the tweet was removed, but the president at least made light of himself when he replaced the odd tweet.

This tweet has also already gotten quite the reaction. Donald Trump has actually gotten very good at distracting the public with Twitter.

Of course, this newest tweet has not been up long, yet the responses are still flooding the Donald’s Twitter account. Not all were jokes against Donald Trump either. A few made cracks at the media and their over-hyped coverage of the false “Russian election hacking” narrative.

Regardless of the political affiliation of the commenters, there were some rather funny responses to the president’s gaffe. Somehow, at the very least, Donald Trump’s social media addiction brings us all together through humor.
