Relax, Conservatives! Obama Says There’s “not even a smidgen of corruption” in the IRS
If you thought that there was mass corruption in the IRS, and that people who disagree with the government are being targeted by them, you’re absolutely wrong. The President says so. In fact, according to Obama, there is “not even a smidgen of corruption”.
During a pre-Superbowl interview with Bill O’Reilly of Fox News, Obama actually blames the mistrust of the IRS on the media. Seriously – it’s all because of Fox News not cooperating and reporting what they were told publicizing the scandal. “I mean, these kinds of things keep on surfacing in part because you and your TV station will promote them.”
He touts the investigation that cleared the IRS of wrongdoing, but in actuality, isn’t having one federal agency claim to investigate another federal agency is sort of like having one fox clear the other fox of digging his way into the henhouse? According to our Fearless Leader, there was no corruption, only silly Americans that don’t understand. In pretty much the most condescending tone to be heard outside of a kindergarten classroom, he said, “Bill, when you look at the stuff, there have been multiple hearings on it. What happened here was that you’ve got a 501(c)4 law people think is confusing. The folks did not know how to implement it.”
Well, now that’s settled. Phew.
We can all rest a little easier knowing that there were a few “bone-headed decisions” but that the good folks at the IRS aren’t out to get us if we happen to be part of a conservative group like fundamentalist Christians, the Tea Party, an anti-abortion organization, or anyone else who happens to offend and annoy the current administration.
To sum it up…not that Obama would lie or anything…(there are only something like 504 examples of this)
O’REILLY: You’re saying no corruption?
OBAMA: No.
O’REILLY: None?
No?
OBAMA: There were some — there were some bone-headed decisions…
O’REILLY: Bone-headed decisions…
OBAMA: — out of — out of a local office…
O’REILLY: But no mass corruption?
OBAMA: Not even mass corruption, not even a smidgeon of corruption, I would say.
