On Saturday President Trump took to twitter to demand an investigation of Rep. Elijah Cummings and his corrupt and “rat infested” Maryland district.
….As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place
Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!
Democrats were outraged at President Trump for daring to call Baltimore a rat-infested city. CNN commentators became emotional as they speculated that the tweets were referring to “brown and black people” despite no evidence to back those claims up other than their imaginations.
Of course, they said it was racist. But is it racist if it is the truth?
“Better to have a few rats than to be one,” the Baltimore Sun’s editorial declared in its headline.
It seems that the Baltimore Sun has forgotten that they have more than “a few” rats. Last year it published several articles on “Rat Film,” which is “a documentary that takes the decades-long fight waged against Baltimore’s rat population and uses it as a lens through which to look at how the city has addressed myriad social issues over the decades….”
ABC2 highlighted and infestation of rats in 2015 and reported on how long term the problem is and what the county is doing to try and mitigate the issue.
And in 2013 MPHOnline listed Baltimore as the 6th most rat-infested city in the world.
The bottom line is that Baltimore has a well-documented issue with rat infestations and since 2015 it has averaged 328 murders per year making it a “very dangerous & filthy place” just as the President said.
