Poverty Stricken Hungarians Burn Out-of-Circulation Money Bricks to Stay Warm During Winter

Editor’s Note: For now the Hungarian central bank is distributing bills no longer fit for circulation in the form of compressed bricks. It is only a matter of time when, like the people of the Weimar Republic, we are burning in-circulation bills for the same, as they will be worth more for heat then for the purchase of products and services.

Report Via KEYC:

Bank notes no longer fit for circulation found a new use in Hungary.

Most central banks destroy their unfit for circulation currency and in most cases they also turn them into bricks.

But Hungary’s national bank had a new idea.

The not so funny money is pressed into bricks in the bank’s logistical center and then given to charitable organizations to help heat buildings during the winter.
