State-sanctioned kidnapping in store for father if he doesn’t comply with state’s wishes..

A New Jersey dad fears the state may soon confiscate his son, all because the 13-year-old had the audacity to twirl a pencil in class.

Seventh grade student Ethan Chaplin thought his troubles were over. His school cleared his name after one of his peers reported to a Glen Meadow Middle School teacher he had been twirling a pencil “like a gun.”

“He’s making gun motions, send him to juvie!” Ethan’s troublemaking colleague exclaimed, and Ethan was quickly ushered to the principal’s office where it was decided he should be suspended, and that, to be safe, he should probably have his head examined.

“We never know what’s percolating in the minds of children,” Vernon Schools Superintendent Charles Maranzano said in an interview, defending the principal’s actions. “And when they demonstrate behaviors that raise red flags, we must do our duty.”

Ethan’s father, however, being of sound mind and having a firm grasp on reality, refused to acquiesce to the principal’s wishes. Others agreed after Ethan’s story received extensive media coverage.

Following the controversy, Ethan’s dad, Michael, received a letter from the school’s superintendent saying no disciplinary action would be taken against his son, but that didn’t stop the New Jersey Department of Children and Families from issuing him a letter stating Ethan “was harmed or was placed at risk of harm.”

“I received a letter from them saying that they had found an incident of abuse or neglect regarding Ethan because I refused to take him for psychological evaluation,” Michael told Pix11.com.

Wanting to get the issue behind them, Michael took Ethan to see a social worker, where he had his blood drawn, and had to submit a urine sample.

The evaluation found Ethan to have no behavioral issues, however the state has persisted in harassing his father, and is now demanding he take him in for an additional screening, or “they will terminate his parental rights and free Ethan up for adoption,” according to Pix11.

“…I’m scared because they have a habit of running away with things unchecked and that’s exactly what’s going on,” Michael said.

The embattled dad has even reached out to Gov. Chris Christie’s office regarding the incident, who responded that an investigation would be launched.

Ethan’s case represents a double whammy for the thought police. While the school’s decision to suspend the student demonstrates the zero tolerance insanity sweeping the nation in response to anything remotely gun-related, the state’s reluctance to accept that Mr. Chaplin’s son is not a threat, in addition to their refusal to honor the results of an evaluation already conducted on Ethan, is indicative of the mangled bureaucracy employed when the state has its sight’s set on taking someone’s child. Moreover, at this point it seems the state is retaliating against Mr. Chaplin, choosing to punish him for not immediately falling in line.
