Regardless of how you feel about Bernie Sanders, you can’t deny that the Democratic establishment was out to get him from day one. Given what we saw with the superdelegates, it was obvious that the leaders of the Democratic party were shilling for Hillary, the establishment pick.
But now we know that the Democrats weren’t just biased against Sanders, they were also conspiring against him. Recently Wikileaks attained over 19,000 emails and over 8,000 attachments from the Democratic National Committee, which were given to them by a hacker. One of the emails revealed that DNC official Brad Marshall considered bringing up Sanders’ religious beliefs in an attempt to alienate him among voters in Kentucky and West Virginia.
“It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.”
Other emails showed that DNC staffers expressed disdain for Sanders, and tried to figure out various ways to derail his momentum. They even tried to come up with ways to attack Sanders for his position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The emails also provide evidence that the DNC was colluding with the media and the Clinton campaign.
But Sanders wasn’t their only target. DNC officials also approved a plan to post fake Craigslist ads that would look like they came from the Trump campaign, and would make Trump sound outrageously sexist.
