I want to offer unconditional obedience to the Führer…I mean, Obama…

At Brevard Community College in Florida, one professor took her fervent devotion to President Obama a little too far.

Professor Sharon Sweet allegedly forced students in her class to sign oaths to vote for Obama in the upcoming election. She had printed the oaths off the website Gotta Vote, which is, clearly, sponsored by the Obama campaign.

The issue was brought to light when a concerned parent called the college administrators.

John Glisch, Associate Vice President for Communications at BCC, released a statement:

“Based on the allegations, Associate Professor Sweet has requested, and been granted, a leave of absence without pay effective immediately.  The college will continue its investigation into the matter, which will include interviews with all students in her class.”

The burgeoning question, of course, is “What class was this woman teaching?  Political Science? Communism 101?”

Umm…no – Professor Sweet is an algebra teacher.  And not a very popular one either, if the reviews on the website “Rate My Professors” are anything to go by.  The site shows overwhelmingly negative reviews of Sweet by her students – her score was 2.3 on a scale of 1-5.  Excerpts from some particularly notable student comments:

“From day one she had an agenda other than math studies, not being totally black ( looking ) I was in her sights constantly.”

“Great teacher- always tells you exactly what you should think.”

“She is an awful person. Told the class no excuses you miss a test its an F. My sister passed away, I got an F, for attending her funeral. Sad Sad Lady. She doesn’t explain and doesn’t help.”

“Train Wreck of an educator.”

“Will not explain things more than once. Not willing to help you with the work. Makes you feel stupid if you do not think the way she does.”

Professor Sharon Sweet is the new poster child for “Indoctrination” instead of “Education”.  Is anyone else reminded of Germany’s Reichswehreid – the oath of allegiance to German forces that was changed in 1934 to contain Hitler’s name?

 I swear by God this holy oath, that I want to offer unconditional obedience to the Führer of the German Reich and people, Adolf Hitler, the commander-in-chief of the Wehrmacht, and be prepared as a brave soldier to risk my life for this oath at any time.
