George Zimmerman sues Warren and Buttigieg for defamation

Buttigieg and Warren are being sued for $265 million

George Zimmerman is suing Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg for $265 million, claiming the 2020 Democratic candidates “defamed” him in an attempt to “garner votes in the black community.”

The lawsuit was filed in Polk County, Florida, on Tuesday and claimed Buttigieg and Warren “defamed Zimmerman for political gain in misguided and malicious attempts to bolster their standings amongst African-American voters, all at Zimmerman’s expense.”

Zimmerman was acquitted in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Florida, as the then-neighborhood watch volunteer encountered the teen in his neighborhood and a scuffle ensued.

While Zimmerman is Hispanic, the liberals and their allies in the media have insisted all along that he is white and the shooting was racially motivated, to fit the prescribed narrative — the case was the impetus that launched the violent Black Lives Matter movement.

Former President Barack Obama didn’t help matters when he declared, “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,”

On Feb. 5, which would have been Martin’s 25th birthday, both candidates tweeted an acknowledgement, which the complaint said was used “as a pretext to demagogue and falsely brand Zimmerman as a white supremacist and racist to their millions of Twitter followers.”

Warren expressed sympathy for Trayvon’s mother, among others, suggesting his death was due to racism.

“My heart goes out to @SybrinaFulton and Trayvon’s family and friends. He should still be with us today. We need to end gun violence and racism. And we need to build a world where all of our children—especially young Black boys—can grow up safe and free,” the senator tweeted.

Buttigieg tweeted: “Trayvon Martin would have been 25 today. How many 25th birthdays have been stolen from us by white supremacy, gun violence, prejudice, and fear?#BlackLivesMatter”

Zimmerman has had numerous run-ins with law enforcement since that fateful day he encountered Trayvon Martin, to include a domestic violence allegation.

Attorney Larry Klayman, founder of Judicial Watch, is representing Zimmerman and he said it’s time to put an end to the “despicable” race tactics being employed.

“It is high time that the cheap and harmful use of the race card by politicians of all stripes be made to cease and desist,” Klayman said, according to Newsweek. “Their despicable ‘race tactics’ are not only causing great harm to persons such as my client George Zimmerman, but also are damaging relations between black and white Americans who are all brothers.”

“The nation should applaud Mr. Zimmerman for taking a strong stand and pushing back against hack politicians like Buttigieg and Warren,” he continued, “who know no bounds of decency and frankly could obviously care less about whom they hurt in their quest to dishonesty use and manipulate black voters to win the 2020 Democrat presidential primary.”

In December, Klayman filed a lawsuit on Zimmerman’s behalf suing Martin’s family and others, to include their lawyer, state police and prosecutors, for $100 million, NBC News reported at the time.

The lawsuit claimed the case against him was based on false evidence, alleging abuse of civil process and conspiracy — the complaint said that the prosecution’s key witness against Zimmerman at his 2013 murder trial, Rachel Jeantel, was an “imposter and fake witness.”
