The problems at Fukushima, overshadowed by the Middle East Crisis, continue to grow. A staff member has reported that a pipe connecting two coolant tanks was dripping highly radioactive water. The pipes had been patched up WITH TAPE.

The readings around the pipe which is one of four new ‘hotspots’ at the site were 1,800 millisieverts an hour. That’s enough to kill an exposed human in four hours.

This comes just a week after TEPCO admitted that 300 tonnes of toxic water had leaked from one of the huge tanks and had most likely seeped through the ground and into the ocean. The spill was categorized a level 3 event, the most serious since the original meltdown.
