Ex-TSA Employee Charged For Oregon Bank Robbery

Former Transportation Security Administration employee, 30-year-old Trevor Lee Schindler, was arrested at his home Tuesday, charged with robbing a Wells Fargo bank in Gresham, Ore.

After walking into the bank and reportedly presenting a note demanding cash to the teller, Schindler was seen fleeing the scene in his green Honda Civic with with $4,767 in cash according to court documents.

After Detectives aired the robbery video and photos on the nightly news, calls began to come in from multiple TSA employees who immediately recognized Schindler.

Sheridan was then indicted on federal bank robbery charges after local authorities successfully petitioned a federal grand jury.

Unfortunately for the TSA, Schindler is yet another example of the rampant criminal behavior found within TSA ranks.

Some reports have even found that criminal behavior is statistically higher among TSA employees than in the general population. A 2012 report by Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn found that the TSA has continually hired child pornographers and pedophiles.

In fact, a Catholic priest who was removed from his ministry after he reportedly sexually-abused two young girls, was given a TSA supervisor position at Philadelphia International Airport.

Last year, former TSA employee Pythias Brown, who spent three years in prison for stealing more than $800,000 worth of cash, electronics and clothing over a four-year-period, admitted that stealing is common among the TSA.

In 2011, two TSA employees pleaded guilty and were sentenced to six months in jail and five years’ probation after stealing $40,000 from a passengers luggage.

TSA employee Michael Arato of Ewing, NJ, was arrested in 2010 and sentenced to 30 months in prison for accepting bribes and stolen goods from fellow employees who regularly took passengers property.

ABC News correspondents tested the TSA last year by leaving an iPad in their luggage, which was stolen and later tracked via GPS to a TSA employees home.

The crimes, which are far too many to list, include everything from drug laundering to hate crimes. An anonymous TSA supervisor stated last year that the agency purposely hires criminals and “sociopaths” while the TSA claims they conduct background checks on all employees.
