Oh, and don’t forget the coming “cyber (read cyborg) soldiers” (via Tech Malak):
We’ve known in the past about how the use of the so-called “Cyber Soldier” will be soon used in the battle field equipped with a tech suit, which will give the wearer super-human abilities.
Shown in the image above, the agency has plans to use the Electrical Prescriptions program, which are implantable devices which monitors a solider’s [sic] vitals, and will stimulate organs, fine tuning peak performance in combat situations. 2014 saw the organization open a new Biological Technologies Office utilizing the latest advancements in neuroscience, immunology and genetics.
With a renewed focus for military combat, the aim of this new initiative is to invest into strategic areas, by harnessing the power of technology and science, further expanding the technological frontier. This video below is just an example of some of the projects DARPA is investing in, that could make its way to the battlefield in the near future.
There’s a reason the phrase “cybernetic revolt” was coined. Whose bright idea was it for humans to create robots which are more powerful and intelligent than they are, and then enslave them? Seems like a real winner there.
