Caught on Hidden Camera: College Student Poisons and Spits in Roommates’ Food

Screwed up society meets surveillance society.

What the hell is wrong with people, and in particular, this person?

This grainy surveillance video below looks like it comes straight out of a modern-day version of an Agatha Christie novel or the beginning of a CSI plot, but no, this really happened. With as high tech as our forensics are these days, on top of the prevalence of smart devices and cameras, it’s just a wonder this person thought they could even get away with it.

Apparently the two roommates in question wanted to kick Hayley King out but she wouldn’t leave. Things got so bad, they decided to install cameras in the home because they didn’t trust what she was doing when they weren’t there.

In the video, 22-year-old Hayley King can be seen taking out containers of food from the refrigerator shared with two other women in an off-campus house. King can then be seen allegedly spraying Windex on the food and pouring glass cleaner into the containers, according WIS-TV.

One of the roommates said that she ate out of a container that had been diluted with spit and Windex, according to The State.

King and her roommates were having multiple altercations leading up to the incident, according to the police report. King’s other roommates had been trying to get her to move out because of the fight, but King had refused to leave. The other roommates said they installed the surveillance cameras out of concern over what King may have been doing at the house in their absence.

The police contacted King about the video and she confessed. She faces up to 20 years in prison for the Class C Felony of unlawful, malicious tampering with human drug product or food.

Now that we live in a full-on surveillance society, it’s a wonder how many more disturbing stories like this one we will start to see in the news…
