Caught on Camera: Delta Air Lines Agent Smacks Phone out of Kid’s Hand

Last week, we wondered if the major airlines were competing to see which one can treat passengers the worst.

Delta – the airline that recently kicked a man off a flight because he dared to get up to use the restroom – has just been bumped up a notch in the rankings.

This time, a child was the victim.

Matthew Boggan, 12, was stuck at New York’s La Guardia Airport with his family when the incident took place last July.

A Delta agent was filmed smacking Matthew’s phone out of his hands as he filmed her giving a crowd of passengers excuses for a 17-hour flight delay.

As the agent smacked Boggan’s hand, she said, “Put the phone down!”

“Don’t grab his stuff!” one person said.

The incident was caught on camera:

Boggan’s family filed a lawsuit last year after the incident, but it reportedly has not been settled.

“She just came over and hit me,” Boggan told The New York Post Tuesday.

“My phone went flying,” Boggan said. “I was in shock.”

Delta spokesman Anthony Black declined to comment, but an attorney for the airline told The Post that Matthew “interfered with the Delta agent’s ability to communicate an announcement.”

Airline employees better get used to “communicating announcements” while being filmed, because it is probably going to happen more and more frequently, given recent events.
