Zimmerman Arrested for Threatening His Girlfriend with a Shotgun
He has been charged with domestic aggravated assault with a weapon, domestic battery, and criminal mischief.
George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of murder earlier this year, has been arrested on weapons charges.
This isn’t his first brush with the law since his acquittal. In September, he was arrested following a domestic disturbance at the home of his estranged wife Shellie, and he has been stopped three times for traffic violations since the end of the high profile trial that gripped the country.
On Monday, police responded to a 911 call at a house in Apopka, Florida. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Zimmerman was arrested for pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend, then forcing her out of the property and barricading himself inside with the weapon.
According to the Sheriff’s office, Zimmerman was not armed by the time they arrived, and he didn’t resist arrest.
He has been charged with domestic aggravated assault with a weapon, domestic battery, and criminal mischief.
