What Economic Recovery? 109 Sears & Kmart Stores to Close, While Obama Gives Amnesty to 11M Illegals

I woke up this morning to some talking-head being interviewed on TV droning on about how the U.S. economy really is on the rebound and that, even though we can’t see it yet, employment figures most surely will go up in a few months — dramatically so.

Blah, blah, blah.

Alas, this happy news had not been received by the thousands of Sears and Kmart employees who soon will lose their jobs.

We know that Sears and Kmart are among the retail giants in the U.S. that are in serious trouble. But the list of Sears and Kmart store liquidations is growing and now extends into 2015 fiscal year.

Seeking Alpha is a financial research site. Using local news reports and information from current Sears and Kmart employees, Mitch Nolen of Seeking Alpha has assembled a comprehensive national list of Sears and Kmart stores and facilities that are going to close.The list isn’t confirmed because Sears Holdings will not confirm the truth of the list, but neither is Sears Holdings denying the information.

Altogether, 70 Kmart stores, 39 Sears stores, 35 Sears Auto Centers, two distribution centers, and three repair facilities are slated for closure. At Sears stores that remain open, employees report layoffs of HR managers, loss prevention managers, department managers, and auto center employees.

Meanwhile, Obama’s new program amnesty — that’s opposed by 62% of Americans, but who cares what the American people think? — to protect an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants from deportation, is effectively an open door policy to invite even more illegal aliens to pour in across our southern border.

As for those 11 million illegals already here, White House spokesman Shawn Turner told The Washington Post many of them will be eligible to receive Social Security, Medicare and a wide array of other federal “benefits.” At the same time, Washington Times brings us the happy news that under Obama’s amnesty, businesses will have a $3,000-per-employee incentive to hire illegal immigrants over native-born workers because of a quirk of Obamacare.

To those who voted for this POS in 2008 and again in 2012, I hope you choke over your breakfast.
