What a Hypocrite: Prince William Makes a Plea for People to Stop Hunting…The Day After a hunting Trip With Brother Harry

“Such a trip is a world away from shooting endangered species for profit, but some may feel that to go hunting himself just as he launches a high-profile campaign is, at the very least, ill-timed.”

Obviously Prince William is more concerned with the legalities of hunting than with animal welfare. A day after going hunting for wild boar and deer in Spain, he appears in a video with his father Prince Charles condemning illegal hunting of endangered species. Non-endangered animals are fair game it seems.

William and Harry were in Spain staying at the private estate of the Duke of Westminster, Williams Godfather, according to The Statesman.

Speaking about Prince William going hunting in Spain, BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell said:

“Such a trip is a world away from shooting endangered species for profit, but some may feel that to go hunting himself just as he launches a high-profile campaign is, at the very least, ill-timed.”

Most people are either for or against hunting, with many only seeing it as acceptable if the animal killed was hunted for food rather than sport. Unless the Duke of Westminster has very large freezers I doubt if the meat from the animals William and Harry shot is destined for the next gala dinner he hosts.
