Watch This Humvee Paradrop Go Horribly (and Hilariously) Wrong

Three humvees slipped out of their parachutes and plummeted to the earth, much to the joy of witnesses on the ground.

The US Army has launched an investigation into a failed training exercise that destroyed valuable military equipment on April 11th, and was caught on film by several soldiers before being shared over the internet. Over 150 items were dropped over the Hohenfels training area in Germany, which included communications equipment, weapon systems, and vehicles. However, three humvees slipped out of their parachutes and plummeted to the earth, much to the joy of witnesses on the ground (warning, NSFW language).

Army spokesman Maj. Juan Martinez told the Army Times that “The specific malfunctions that occurred on this day are under investigation. There were multiple rehearsals and inspections of the equipment prior to mission execution. We cannot speculate on what went wrong until the investigation is complete.”

Major Martinez also added that the soldiers who filmed this accident haven’t been identified, and a course of disciplinary action hasn’t been decided upon. “While (the commanders of the 173rd) are aware of the video, it does not overshadow the hard work of the paratroopers, allies, and partners that took place during Saber Junction 16.”
