Watch Kurt Russell Defend Second Amendment on ‘The View’

By now you’ve probably heard about Kurt Russel’s recent statements on gun control, which he made during an interview to promote “The Hateful Eight.” After reporter Jeffrey Wells tried to steer the conversation towards the gun debate and called gun ownership a “metaphor that disenfranchised white guys need,” Kurt Russell quickly put him in his place.

Over the weekend, Kurt Russell had the opportunity to defend his comments on The View. At first glance, it appears to be an unremarkable Hollywood interview to promote a movie. However, he made some controversial statements about gun rights that most famous people wouldn’t dare say on air.

Normally, the leftists on this program would have torn their guest apart for saying this, but somehow he won them over. He started by defended the right of the people to defend themselves from the government, which normally causes leftists to start frothing at the mouth. Then it sounds like he defended the South’s right to defend itself during the Civil War. How he got away with it is beyond me, but nonetheless, it’s refreshing to see these libertarian ideas on display on such a mainstream show like The View.
