This one is for those who think no one would take care of the roads in the absence of a coercive and violent government. Domino’s Pizza has announced their voluntary plans to fill the potholes of roads left to deteriorate under the government’s control.

According to The Huffington Post, Domino’s Pizza is filling in potholes in towns across the United States with their new “Paving for Pizza” initiative. The American pizza chain announced on Monday that it will help “smooth the ride home” for deliveries by making pothole repairs in towns nominated by their customers, proving that if there is a need, the market will provide. Capitalism and voluntary human interaction will step in a fix the problems the government fails to.

“Have you ever hit a pothole and instantly cringed?” Russell Weiner, president of Domino’s USA explains, stated in a press release. “We know that feeling is heightened when you’re bringing home a carryout order from your local Domino’s store. We don’t want to lose any great-tasting pizza to a pothole, ruining a wonderful meal.”

In Milford, Domino’s says it helped fix 40 potholes on 10 roads in 10 hours with four crew members.

But this isn’t the first time people have voluntarily helped to fix roads in the absence of government care. Portland Anarchist Road Care (PARC) is a community collaboration of skilled workers who volunteer their services to fix the damaged roads around Portland, Oregon. Citing concerns about governmental bureaucracy, the current political climate, a lack of funds and a seeming lack of care, the members of PARC decided to take things into their own very capable hands.

Voluntary interaction requires no force and no violence. It only serves as a way for some to help others doing what they are good at.

We are Portland Anarchist Road Care. We believe in community-oriented direct action. We believe the state cares more about funding a militarized police force to suppress free speech than caring for and repairing the roads. …Portland Anarchist Road Care aims to mobilize crews throughout our city, in our neighborhoods, to patch our streets, build community, and continue to find solutions to community problems outside of the state. –Portland Anarchist Road Care

If you haven’t already, you should consider Googling “Voluntaryism.” It’s the only morally acceptable way to organize a society, and once you allow your own logic and reason to prevail, you’ll likely see you were a voluntaryist this entire time.
