United States of America is the Greatest threat to World Peace

After a group of foreigners supposedly perpetrated an attack on US soil in 2001, and after the United States began to execute its so-called ‘War on Terror’, the world, but perhaps more surprisingly, the American people themselves, see the US government as the greatest threat to global peace.

Just over twelve years have past since the United States declared war on terrorism a concept that its governors cannot clearly explain and whose scope is as broad as their interpretations of the words ‘threat’, ‘terror’, ‘terrorist’ and ‘homeland’, among others.

The illusion that an all mighty state, a Police State, is the solution to all threats in a ‘dangerous world’ has proven to be false in all aspects. In fact, American actions abroad have made the world less safe to live.

Proof of this is the latest survey from Win/Gallup International, which found that the United States is considered by most participants as the number one “greatest threat to peace in the world today”. According to the poll, among 67,806 respondents from 65 countries, the US is the greatest threat to world peace. ( See the graph below).

Given the latest developments that relate the US National Security Agency to a massive global spying scheme, not only have US foes opined that the US has become an obstacle to world peace. In this survey so-called US allies have also agreed that their long time pal undermines world stability more than any other nation.

The fact that a third world war has not happened, a situation that many mistakenly believe is the result of US foreign policy, does not make the continuous wars sparked by US ‘exceptionalism’ less tragic than an all out, officially declared war. That is surely where the perception towards the US as a war monger comes from, and the result of the poll makes this fact very clear.

Let’s see what does the American government have to say about it.
