Welcome to the UK where we favour political correctness over public safety.
Once again our ineffective government has let us down. Those of us who have said for years that the Burka would eventually lead to a security breach have sadly been proven right.
Of course we have been branded racists for saying this, which is a load of bullshit for want of a better expression. It stands to reason that if a segment of society is allowed to walk around, clad head to foot with no way of identifying the person beneath, that this was at some point, going to happen.
Well now it has, and Mohammed Ahmed Mohamed is holed up somewhere and nobody has a clue where. Mohamed, linked to the Somali al-Shabaab group is reported to have fought overseas for the organisation.
It really isn’t good enough to say:
“The police and security services do not believe that this man poses a direct threat to the public in the UK.” (source)
What about an indirect threat? Who does he associate with? Do those people pose a direct threat to us? Is he part of a larger group? Who is this man ? Why is he here anyway?
The BBC report states:
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “The Counter Terrorism Command immediately launched inquiries to trace Mr Mohamed, and these continue.
“Ports and borders were notified with his photograph and details circulated nationally. Public safety remains our priority.”
The court-imposed anonymity order banning the publication of Mr Mohamed’s name was lifted on Saturday to allow police to make a public appeal for information.
Terrorism prevention and investigation measures notices – or TPims – were introduced in January 2012 to replace control orders.
The court-approved orders include a requirement that their subjects report daily to the authorities, stay overnight at a specified address, wear a GPS tag, and face restrictions on travel, movement, association and communication.
Why alert ports and borders? Let him out for Christ sakes, and rip up his papers as he leaves so he can’t come back in.
Are we to assume the battery in the GPS unit he is supposedly wearing has packed up, and that’s why they can’t trace him?
The Cameron/Clegg government couldn’t find its way out of a paper bag if there were a signpost pointing the way.
So whilst we wait and see if this person is traced, lets hope that he and his mates don’t decide to blow a chunk out of one of our nice buildings. I assume his curfew allows him to watch TV, meaning he will know that most of our public buildings have little or no police presence due to the cut backs faced by the Metropolitan Police.
With the very British celebration of Guy Fawkes approaching (November 5th) lets hope if any event does occur from this mans escape that he follows Fawkes and attempts to blow up the government that were stupid enough to allow him to move around in public, rather than those whose taxes pay for his upkeep and lifestyle here in the UK.
