U.N. “Peacekeepers” Use Live Ammo on Protesters

The establishment media usually insists the United Nations is impartial and sends blue helmets to hotspots in the spirit of neutrality.

This fallacy was trounced yesterday when a Jordanian “peacekeeper” opened fire with live ammo on protesters demanding the resignation of Haiti’s President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe.

The United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) has a dismal track record, according to Dr. Ajamu Nangwaya and other observers.

Following the 2004 overthrow of Jean-Bertrand Aristide’s government by the United States, France and Canada, U.N. “peacekeepers” faced accusations they sexually exploited children, engaged in repression of Aristide supporters, and have consistently terrorized residents in Port-au-Prince and elsewhere on the island.

In October, Nangwaya and Kevin Edmonds wrote:

During these ten years, MINUSTAH has compiled a horrific record of human rights abuses, including but not limited to extrajudicial murder, an epidemic of sexual assault against Haitian men, women and children, the repression of peaceful political protests, in addition to unleashing cholera through criminal negligence which has caused the death of over 9,000 people and infecting nearly a million more. Despite these well documented abuses, the historical record has shown that the Security Council will mostly likely renew MINUSTAH for another year without any thought to damage being done to Haiti.

The globalists will do whatever it takes to make sure Haiti remains a cheap labor sweatshop for transnational corporations.

Aristide made the mistake of supporting Fanmi Lavalas, the most popular political and electoral organization in Haiti. It called for a new political model and rejected the neoliberal corporatist regime that has kept Haiti in grinding poverty.

MINUSTAH has reacted to the use of deadly force on rioting demonstrators:

The United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti, (MINUSTAH), has been informed of an alleged excessive use of force, while responding to violent demonstrators targeting law enforcement personnel supporting the Haitian National Police (HNP) and causing injuries and destruction of property, during the demonstration in Port-au-Prince today. The Mission takes this allegation very seriously and immediately opened an investigation to establish the facts.

Critics point out the United Nations under Hervé Ladsous, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, is notorious for covering up previous incidents.
