AR1934 which is over on the western flank of the Sun poses the greatest threat over the next 24 hours as it’s position is linked to geo-effective changes on Earth. AR 1936 will is also Earth facing, but will be in the ‘optimum’ position in 24-48 hours time.
There is a large coronal hole on the Earth facing side of the Sun and the solar wind emanating from it should reach Earth on Jan 2-3rd, possibly providing the first aurora’s of 2014.
Today’s sunspot number is 93.
