After CNN showed a neo-Nazi statement on screen, twitter exploded with angry viewers. Attempting to caption the ideas of a guest, the words “…if Jews are people” appeared on the screen. Of course, this was during a segment that was attempting to blend the neo-Nazi movement with the media-invented “Alt-right”.
CNN host Jim Sciutto spoke with two media correspondents about Richard Spencer, a supposed “leader” of the alt-right leader and president of the National Policy Institute. He has been considered by many people to be the founder of the neo-Nazi movement. CNN is grasping at straws to make neo-Nazis seem relevant again.
Spencer spoke in Washington, DC about deception in the media, which he called “Lügenpresse” which means “lying press”. He has been an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump throughout this election, and he blames “Jewish interests” for the obvious media bias favoring Clinton throughout the past year.
“One wonders if these people are people at all, or instead soulless golem,” he said.
Scuttio quoted these words and called them “hate-filled garbage” while the titles at the bottom of the screen read: “Alt-right founder questions if Jews are people.”
The audience immediately flooded Twitter to voice their dissent from the network:
Can we at least call those who “QUESTION WHETHER JEWS ARE PEOPLE” neo-Nazis, instead of using this euphemistic “alt-right” label?
Hey @brianstelter, can you help us understand how this came about? Because as a Jew, it feels like CNN is aiding/abetting a new Nazi party. https://t.co/RJc2DG8mmo
