Trump Is Losing The Russian Political Game Obama Started

Russia is getting irritated at the United States’ unwillingness to give back two Russian intelligence compounds seized in the United States because of Barack Obama’s temper tantrum and manufactured narrative. Since the US refuses to act to stabilize relations with the former Soviet Union, and return property seized because of an emotional outburst over Hillary Clinton’s loss, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he was “considering specific measures” in response to the US government’s incompetence.

Regardless of the action or inaction, Donald Trump decides to take, he will be on the losing side of this political game Barack Obama started.

As if the United States couldn’t become an even bigger laughingstock on the world stage, Russia is now making threats that will certainly push the nations toward dissolving relations, if not an all out war. Ex-President Barack Obama tried to set into action a war with Russia before he left office when the Obama administration expelled 35 Russian diplomats and shut down two intelligence compounds in December of 2016. He acted against Russia after US intelligence sources falsely accused Russian state agents of hacking into Democratic Party computers to undermine Hillary Clinton’s poor attempt at a presidential campaign and tied Trump’s hands, making peace and diplomacy all but impossible.

Russia says it is “outrageous” that the US has not yet handed back two Russian intelligence compounds seized in the US under the Obama administration, and now Moscow is threatening to expel about 30 US diplomats and seize US state property in retaliation. Russia has displayed “unusual flexibility” on the issue, Yuri Ushakov said. But, he added, the Kremlin’s patience “has its limits” and it’s up to the US to “free Russia from the need to take retaliatory moves.”

Mr. Lavrov told Russian media it was “simply shameful for such a great country as the United States, a champion of international law, to leave the situation in such a state of suspended animation. Justice and international law must be restored,” he said, accusing the US Congress of being “charged up with Russophobia.” Russian President Vladimir Putin hasn’t been thrilled about the accusations against his country either.  Earlier, he said that the media hype over the evidenceless Russian hacking narrative was nothing more than “political schizophrenia.”

But Obama made sure he firmly stuck Donald Trump between a rock and a hard place when beginning this political game. If President Trump hands back the Russian diplomatic compounds seized by President Obama last year, he will cement his image of being a “Kremlin stooge” and “sellout” in the eyes of all leftists and political opponents, both in the US and abroad. At this point, any concessions to Russia would be highly controversial, in light of ongoing political witch hunts in the form of investigations into admittedly false links between Mr. Trump’s team and Moscow.

Vladimir Putin has so far, refrained from tit-for-tat retaliation because of Donald Trump’s election. Putin seemed all but determined to make Obama irrelevant, but as far as being a political weasel and conniving snake, Barack is the winner and Trump’s hands seem permanently tied.

Russia says President Trump presented “no plan to resolve the crisis” when the issue was raised in Hamburg last week. Russia will carry out their threat of seizure if no compromise is reached at a St. Petersburg meeting later this month between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and US Under Secretary of State Thomas Shannon, Izvestia reported.

It certainly appears that the US is intentionally dissolving relations with Russia to bring about a war. The political gamesmanship put into motion by Obama with help and collusion of the mainstream media will more than likely continue to come into play throughout the remainder of Trump’s presidency, especially when it comes to a relationship with Russia.
