Todays Space Weather: Decreasing Chance Of Flares
CME TARGETS MERCURY: The magnetic canopy of sunspot AR1719 erupted during the late hours of April 18th, hurling a bright CME into space. The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory photographed the cloud racing away from the sun’s western limb:
Todays sunspot number is 86. With AR1723 in decay there is a reduced chance of solar flares over the next 24 hours with NOAA estimating a 10% chance of an M-Class flare over the next 24 hours and a 0.1% chance of an X-Class during the same period.
