Todays sunspot number is 90.

NOAA estimate the chance of an M class flare at 10% within the next 24 hours, and and X class at 0.1% durning the same timeframe.

Comet Pan-STARRS (C/2011 L4) is now inside the orbit of Mercury. It will get brighter as it moves towards the Sun. On March 5th comet Pan-STARRS makes its closest approach to Earth.

Around 12-13th March the comet will return to the northern hemisphere and will be visible around sunset close to the crescent moon.
