A man went on a shooting rampage Tuesday in Fresno, California. The suspect randomly shot at four white men, killing three, before he was taken into custody.

Kori Ali Muhammad, 39, reportedly shouted “God is great” in Arabic during at least one of the shootings and later telling police that he hates white people, authorities said.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said officers took Muhammad  into custody in connection to the shootings. Dyer said the suspect went by the nickname “Black Jesus” and made Facebook posts about hating white people and the government.

He also was wanted in connection with another shooting days earlier, in which a security guard was gunned down at a Fresno motel after responding to a disturbance, reports ABC News.

The shooting spree began around 10:45 a.m. local time. One person was shot in a PG&E utility truck, a second person was shot on Fulton Street, and a third person was shot in the parking lot of Catholic Charities, according to Fox News.

All three shooting locations were close to each other in the downtown area, and around 16 shots were fired during the shooting spree.

Police found rounds of .357 caliber bullets and speed loaders for a revolver when Muhammad was taken into custody, but no weapon was found, Dyer said.

“What we know is that this was a random act of violence,” Dyer said. “There is every reason to believe he acted alone.”

More from Fox News:

The imam of the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno told the Associated Press that Muhammad was not a member of his center.

Sayed Ali Ghazvini told the AP that he and other faith leaders are trying to identify gunman.

“We’re kind of shocked and surprised for what happened,” Ghazvini told the AP. “We are very sorry for this to happen. We offer condolences for the victims, we pray for the victims and their families.”

Muhammad is facing with four counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Police said he has some criminal history of terrorist threats, but they do not know if he is on any terrorism watchlists. However, they said it was “still too early” to say if the shooting was an act of terrorism.
