Army 1st Lt. Jennifer M. Moreno who Died October 6, 2013
Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
On September 11th I published an open letter to President Obama regarding the deaths of service personnel fighting in ‘The War On Terror”. 6,727 of America’s finest had, up to that date, given their lives in the service of their country. They wore their uniforms with pride, and they paid the ultimate price.
The war on terror will not stop. It will continue because the ideologies and values we hold in the West are so very different to the ideology and values held by those we call terrorists.
In the West we want to live, we fear death. In the East they are not only willing to die for the cause but are happy to do so. Many actually seek to martyr themselves for Islam and the love of Allah.
You cannot use conventional means to defeat an enemy who does not think in the manner we regard as conventional.
Since September 11th, the number of deaths has risen. Operation Enduring Freedom has claimed 15 more lives. These deaths barely get mentioned anymore. Nothing is said as the number slowly but surely continues to rise.

For what?
Take a look at what’s happening in Iraq. Scores of people are dying daily in suicide bombings. It’s not even safe to go to the market to buy food anymore. There has been no long lasting effect in Iraq, and there will be no long lasting effect in Afghanistan.
For the love of God let’s just bring all our people home.
