Terrorism Scare: US Embassy in Sweden Receives Envelope Full of White Powder

The US Embassy in Stockholm has been evacuated this morning over a “possible incident”.  Swedish police report that  “a letter with unidentified content had arrived at the embassy”.  The suspect envelope contained an unidentified white powder, according to anonymous sources.

Embassy spokesperson Jeff Anderson said, “We’ve evacuated the embassy while we are investigating a possible security incident. We are working together with the Swedish authorities.”

Stockholm police spokeswoman Tove Hagg stated that staff have been evacuated from the building but remain on the premises. Streets around the embassy have been closed and a bomb disposal team has been dispatched as a precaution.
