Sunspot AR1762 Has Energy For X-Class Flares

Although todays sunspot number is low at 59 sunspot AR1762 harbors the beta-gamma-delta energy required to produce X-Class flares. At this point it is only throwing out minor B and C class eruptions but those could well be a prelude for more powerful eruptions to follow.

NOAA estimate the chance of an M-Class flare at 20% during the next 24 hours, and an X-Class at 1% but they are watching the situation closely and this could change as the energy field develops.

There is a coronal hole that is releasing high speed winds and these should hit the Earth on June 8-9th and will possibly be geo-effective in high latitudes.
