West Virginia State Police said Interstate 68 was shut down for almost four hours Wednesday near the border with Maryland after threats were made to kill President Donald Trump and to blow up the Pentagon.

State Police in Kingwood said in a news release a motorist was stopped for speeding at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday along eastbound I-68 near Bruceton Mills.

A 42-year-old male has been detained for questioning after a search of the vehicle revealed a firearm and explosive powder, State Police said. Police have not released the suspect’s name or further details as the State Police, the FBI and the Secret Service are continuing to investigate.
