Edward Snowden has finally received permission from Russian authorities to leave the airport, where he has been stranded since his arrival in the country.

Snowden applied for temporary asylum in Russia last week. Where he is going within the country is not known at this point.
A couple of hours have passed and reporters are still waiting outside the airport.
It seems something in the background has changed. Russian authorities are saying that Ed Snowden has to stay at the airport for a while longer.
It has been reported that he plans to settle down in Russia but that documentation granting asylum of any kind is still being processed.
