Sinkhole swallows up Florida man
A Florida man, Jeffrey Bush aged 36 is presumed dead after a 20ft deep sinkhole swallowed the bedroom of his single storey house. Rescue crews have repeatedly tried and failed to make contact with him.
Sinkholes are common in Florida as much of the state sits atop of a network of caverns, erosion underground can lead to a collapse and a sinkhole opening up. Jeremy Bush, the victims brother reported hearing a loud crash and then his brother screaming for help. He attempted a rescue but to no avail.
