Scientists Are Now Issuing “Dire” Warnings About Sex Robots

Back when most American adults were still children, they thought that they would have flying cars and the ability to vacation on other planets by now. It’s 2017 and instead, we humans are arguing about whether the earth is flat and scientists are warning us about the sex robot industry.

You just can’t make this stuff up. Democracy is destroying capitalism through votes, college students can’t pass basic algebra, and most worship the government with a religious fervor. But don’t worry about the nation’s declining IQ or the slow a deadly inch toward socialism and poverty for all, because there are sex robots. Or there were until the scientists decided they should issue a dark warning about them.

Scientists from the Foundation For Responsible Robotics have released a report asking society to consider a possible future where humans have sex with robots and have outlined some things that society needs to do to prepare for that future. As if sex with robots is somehow worse than rape or pedophilia, but I digress…

The report, led by Professor Noel Sharkey, said that “society needs to consider the impact of the different types of sex robots, and called specifically for a ban on sex robots that are designed to look like children.” Well, would you look at that.  They are already calling for a ban on an inanimate object because of “appearance.” Gun control activists who loathe the AR-15 are frantically clapping their hands with glee.

“We do need policymakers to look at it and the general public to decide what is acceptable and permissible,” he said of the report. “We need to think as a society what we want to do about it.” Except, isn’t pedophilia acceptable to leftists nowadays? It’s a “disorder”, not a “crime” according to hardcore Democrats, so why ban a robot (which is not a person)? Although those on the right seek to give flags rights (making the destruction of your own private property illegal), so we are really dealing with a very mentally defunct society.

The robot report says that finding out how many sex robots are currently in circulation is difficult, as the companies who make them do not release the numbers. What, there’s no registry for sex robots? Maybe now the users of the robots understand minutely what a gun owner feels when he or she dares to turn on the news.

A quick Internet search confirms that there are plenty of varieties of robots already on the market, as well as the admittedly “scary looking” concept doll currently trying to raise money on Kickstarter.

In the United States though, you know, the “land of the free,” when something looks scary, we ban it.  It’s what good moral folks do. Most demand government intervention even though it’s not only worthless, doesn’t make them morally superior. Knowing that the market for robots is already taking off, Noel Sharkey’s report looked at how the robots might be “employed” in the future. And it’s pretty bleak if you’re a socialist. But then again, it’s hard to make laws dictating the actions of non-living objects.

The report suggested that robots could be used as prostitutes, working in brothels (much like in Westworld), as sexual companions for the lonely and the elderly, as well as a sexual therapy tool for rapists and/or pedophiles. The report also looks at whether sex robots would help to reduce crime.

“On one side there are those who believe that expressing disordered or criminal sexual desires with a sex robot would satiate them to the point where they would not have the desire to harm fellow humans,” the report says. “On the other side, many others  believe that this would be an indulgence that could encourage and reinforce illicit sexual practices. This may work for a few but it is a very dangerous path to tread. It may be that allowing people to live out their darkest fantasies with sex robots could have a pernicious effect on society and societal norms and create more danger for the vulnerable.”

A court in Canada is currently trying to determine whether owning such a robot is legal after a man from Newfoundland ordered one that was intercepted at a Canadian airport. The man was charged with possessing child pornography but has pleaded not guilty. Oh, the horror! A sicko in Canada ordered a doll rather than take his lust out on a child? BAN IT.

Of course, it’s creepy and disturbing, and not for everyone. But if a there is no victim (robots can’t be victims because they are not alive) there is no crime – no moral superiority needed. But that’s not how it works when totalitarianism reigns supreme.

In 2017, we are debating if people can commit crimes against non-living objects. But if you ask any patriot, most think people should be caged or face the death penalty for treating an American flag the wrong way. The American thing to do is to just ban things; all things. It’s for the children. (Sarcasm definitely implied).
