It is being reported that a Russian cargo spaceship called “Progress” was “lost” on its way to the ISS where it was set to deliver 2.6 tons of supplies.

The destruction of the ship is thought to have been caused by an inexplicable “in-flight anomaly”.

“After the launch of the Soyuz-U launch vehicle along with the Progress MS-04 cargo spacecraft, telemetry connection was lost on the 383th second of flight,” Roscosmos said in a statement.

Most of the debris have broken and burned up in the atmosphere.

RT is reporting that a State Commission will be investigating what could have caused it.
