Russell Brand has never been one to mince words. The actor-comedian is passionate about politics and the state of the world, and shared his thoughts in the most recent issue of the British news magazine New Statesman and in an interview with BBC Newsnight’s Jeremy Paxman.
Brand says that he has never voted, and he never will, as “the UK’s political system has created a ‘disenfranchised, disillusioned underclass’ that it fails to serve.”
“It is not that I am not voting out of apathy. I am not voting out of absolute indifference and weariness and exhaustion from the lies, treachery and deceit of the political class that has been going on for generations.”
