DETROIT — An estimated 50,000 wild and potentially dangerous dogs, including Pitbulls, are said to currently roam the streets. Residents and passersby are now being intimidated by the wild beasts spawned from the decline of a once great nation. A tale-tale sign of the economic state we now face across America.
The problem is, the bankrupt City of Detroit has far fewer animal control officers this year, making it tough to get results as they are encountering rough terrain and harsh economic conditions due to drastic budget cuts. Now in 2013, the stray dog population of the city is mostly “dominated by Pitbulls” according to reports. Some residents even fear attack.
Bloomberg.com reported, “Dens of as many as 20 canines have been found in boarded-up homes in the community of about 700,000 that once pulsed with 1.8 million people. One officer in the Police Department’s skeleton animal-control unit recalled a pack splashing away in a basement that flooded when thieves ripped out water pipes.”
It has also been reported that locals and transients are chaining up the dogs in random industrial areas and hideouts to protect their nearby surroundings from thieves as crime in the city is off the charts.
