Riots Break Out in St. Louis after Cops Shoot and Kill Unarmed Teen

The headline from today’s St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Two days ago, a so far unnamed police officer in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson shot and killed an unarmed, 18-year-old black teen named Michael Brown. Reportedly the officer and his department have not released an official reason for shooting the teen multiple times and killing him. They’re probably working that up now.

In the meantime, what started as hundreds of residents marching and protesting in the streets with chants of “no justice, no peace,” “stop police terrorism,” and “disarm the police” quickly broke down into full-on riots. People trashed police cars, smashed storefront windows and looted en masse in what 34-year police veteran Ed Kuntz said is, “The first time I can remember this ever happening here”.

A gas station was even burned to the ground, and SWAT and riot squads in armored vehicles responded to the scene.

The FBI has vowed to investigate. Anonymous reportedly hacked Ferguson’s computers. Of course, former FBI informant Rev. Al Sharpton is about to show up and whip things into a further frenzy, as he normally does with any story he can use to race bait and further inflame national tensions.

He’s in good company. The media is already likening this case to the highly publicized and politicized Trayvon Martin case.

This is set to be the next weapon of mass distraction to keep people from focusing too long on any one of the larger crises the military-industrial complex is busy perpetrating all over the globe right now.

They change crises like a normal person changes outfits. They don’t want people to focus on Israel and Gaza, or the fact that Obama has now ordered a lengthy Iraq bombing campaign that they’ll refer to as anything but “war,” or how they’re trying really hard to get the Cold War with Russia to go hot through Ukraine (all ultimately over gas and oil resources, of course). They even got tired of scaring everyone with the much hyped Ebola threat.

So now the 24/7 news cycle is about to numb people’s critical thinking skills with this…and likely more calls for gun control (somehow, if they can work it in).
