By a nearly 3-to-1 margin, poll respondents told Rasmussen Reports they favor armed guards in schools.
The survey found “62 percent of with children of elementary or secondary school age would feel safer in their child attended a school with an armed security guard,” according to Rasmussen.
But just 24 percent of parents say they would feel safer if their child went to a school without armed protection. Fifteen percent weren’t sure.
The poll of 1,000 American parents was conducted in early August, well after the initial reaction of the Sandy Hook school massacre.
Yet politicians and unions continue to be driven by ideology rather than common sense and what parents desire.
