Oops! Lawmaker Hands Out Document With Screenshot That Shows Open Porn Site Tabs

A Rhode Island lawmaker is defending himself after giving his colleagues a handout that showed open web browser tabs with pornographic references loaded in the background.

State Rep. Ramon Perez was testifying before the House Finance Committee on Wednesday in favor of a bill to create a fund that would pay drivers involved in accidents with unlicensed motorists, reports the AP.

As part of his testimony, he handed committee members a printout of a Wikipedia article on a similar policy in Puerto Rico.

Perez apparently did not notice the open browser tabs shown in the printout…

The tabs are a bit difficult to read, but the words “teen”, “MILF,” “young cute”, “blonde,” and “brunette” can be seen.

A clerk quickly collected the documents from the committee members, and Perez submitted a porn-free version the next day, reports WPRI.

Perez, a freshman legislator, claimed the image was not from his computer.

“I was asking a friend if they know something about it. So a friend sent me that picture with the information I was looking for. I used that picture to make copies. I didn’t see the stuff at the top,” Perez said.

“It wasn’t intended, it wasn’t from my computer.” Rep. Perez also repeatedly apologized emphasizing that this was by no means intentional when ABC 6 spoke to him by phone.

In a phone interview with NBC 10, Perez said,

“I didn’t notice it. I was searching for information for the committee. Someone gave me that information. I’m not going to name them. Some people were trying to help me. If somebody is to blame, it’s me. It’s my fault. I’m very sorry.”

Perez later posted an apology on Facebook that read:

“Tell me people what you see wrong in this picture? I was send this picture with information I need it for one of my bill, I didn’t notice what was wrong with it, until I got a few calls about it. My fault for no noticing the That picture I had receive, had something bad on it, and use it by mistake ,sorry to everyone, This is my stament. That is all.”

That post appears to have been deleted from Facebook – in fact, Perez’s entire Facebook account appears to have been deactivated or deleted.
