Ohr received $28k bonus during his involvement with DOJ surveillance of Trump presidential campaign

Official documents revealed that the Justice Department official connected with the infamous ‘Golden Showers’ anti-Trump dossier was given a $28,000 performance bonus during the Russia probe.

Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group, said Friday in a press release that it had obtained several US Department of Justice documents about Bruce Ohr through a Freedom of Information Act request, including the one revealing the $28,000 bonus.

The documents showed that Ohr, a senior Justice official, was given the money award on November 13, 2016, ‘during the time of his deep involvement’ in the Justice Department’s surveillance of Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign.

Ohr’s bonus was said to be just under twice as much money as he’d received for his previous year’s performance award. In November 2015, Ohr was given $14,250.

All together, Ohr was said to have gotten $42,520 in performance awards while the Russia probe was ongoing.

The records obtained by Judicial Watch did not specifically detail why Ohr was given the 2016 award, according to Fox News.

Other documents obtained by Judicial Watch‘s FOIA request supposedly showed that Ohr, whose wife, Nellie Ohr, worked for dossier commissioners Fusion GPS, was removed from his position as Associate Deputy Attorney General on December 6, 2017. Judicial Watch said that this was due to a conflict of interest and Ohr’s ‘role as a conduit for Fusion GPS material.’
