New Store Opens in Portland Where You Can Pay Someone to Cuddle You

Who says you can’t buy a little (legal) love?

Stores are now cropping up where people can pay other people to… cuddle them.

Samantha Hess recently opened up the shop Cuddle Up To Me in Portland, Oregon where people can pay a dollar an hour to be cuddled in more than 50 different positions of their choice.

“My name is Sam, and I am a professional cuddler. If you could use some one-on-one cuddle time without the complications that life normally brings us, then I am your girl. Let’s hold hands, listen to some soft music, and be present in the moment—I am happy to be the big spoon or the little spoon. My purpose is to make you feel comfortable, loved, and appreciated. Everyone needs to know they matter. You matter and you are loved,” the store’s website reads.

Portland-based professional cuddler Samantha Hess says her cuddle business can help anyone who is a “touch-driven person.”

She says the cuddle sessions are strictly platonic. Clients sign a waiver before the session, promising to be clean, courteous and keep their clothes on. There’s a meet-and-greet before the cuddle.

“I require each client meet with me in person in a public place so we can sit down and chat,” Hess said. “They can ask me whatever business or personal questions they want and I can learn why they’re seeking my services and ensure that they’re looking for what I offer and nothing more.”
