I deeply care for my students.

When a middle-school gunman walked into a classroom in Indiana last week wielding two guns and opened fire, teacher Jason Seaman immediately reacted the only way possible.

Seaman, a former college football player threw a basketball at the shooter to distract him and then lunged towards the active shooter in an effort to disarm him. He took three bullets in the process, but successfully took the shooter down.

When asked about his heroic actions at a press conference, Seaman said he did the only acceptable thing in such a situation.

The courageous science teacher who was shot three times as he wrestled a student gunman to the ground, insists he’s no hero.

Jason Seaman told a press conference on Monday that his ‘actions that day, in my mind, were the only acceptable actions.’

On Monday, Seaman admitted he ‘wasn’t entirely comfortable’ with the title and all the attention on him, adding that he saw no other option but to risk his life to try and stop the shooter.

‘I deeply care for my students and their well being,’ he explained.

There were no fatalities in the incident, though had Seaman not acted the result may have been another school massacre.

A GoFundMe campaign to help with Seaman’s medical bills has already raised $73,000.
