Both Democrats and Republicans are already spinning their talking points concerning the Mueller report even if they have only had time to skim the over 448-page document, or more likely, have not read it at all.
Trump’s legal team issued a statement minutes after the report’s release online, calling it “a total victory for the President. The report underscores what we have argued from the very beginning — there was no collusion — there was no obstruction.”
Speaking at a White House event around the same time as the release, Trump said it was “a good day.”
Charlie Kirk, the Founder & President of Turning Point USA tweeted:
CNN headline and the accompanying story cherry picked an except without reporting the entire statement: “Everyone tells me if you get one of these independent counsels it ruins your presidency…it takes years and years and I won’t be able to do anything.”
CNN’s chief legal analyst, Jeffrey Toobin, stated during a CNN panel discussion: “He was frustrated, and that’s evidence of guilt! That is not evidence of innocence. Happy people don’t obstruct justice! ”
Presidential candidate Eric Swallwell appearing on MSNBC called for A.G. Barr to resign and said that the “President needs to acknowledge that Russia attacked us and calls the Trump a ‘double digit obstructer.'”
