MSNBC’s Bashir Apologizes for Suggesting Someone Should Sh*t in Sarah Palin’s Mouth

Ya know, because it’s just the kind of thing you can just say on national television and then go, ‘Oh, sorry, my bad’.

MSNBC’s Bashir Apologizes for Suggesting Someone Should Sh*t in Sarah Palin’s Mouth

Sorry for that headline. I wish I could say I’m making this up, but sadly, this really happened.

In a speech on November 9th, former Republican Party nominee for Vice President Sarah Palin, said “Our free stuff today is being paid for by taking money from our children and borrowing from China. When that note comes due…it’s gonna be like slavery.”

Considering it’s already been announced on live TV that we’re all slaves to the bankers anyway, what Mrs. Palin said really isn’t that much of a stretch to anyone who has been paying attention to what’s going on in the world for more than five seconds together.

British MSNBC political commentator Martin Bashir, however, decided Palin’s very mention of slavery deserved the following diatribe:

“Given her well-established reputation as a world class idiot, it’s hardly surprising that [Palin] should choose to mention slavery in a way that is abominable to anyone who knows anything about its barbaric history.”

“So here’s an example. One of the most comprehensive first-person accounts of slavery comes from the personal diary of a man called Thomas Thistlewood, who kept copious notes for 39 years. Thistlewood was the son of a tenant farmer, who arrived on the island of Jamaica in April 1750, and assumed the position of overseer at a major plantation.

“What is most shocking about Thistlewood’s diary is not simply the fact that he assumes the right to own and possess other human beings, but is the sheer cruelty and brutality of his regime.”

“In 1756, he records that a slave named Darby ‘catched eating kanes; had him well flogged and pickled, then made Hector, another slave, s-h-i-t in his mouth.’ This became known as ‘Darby’s Dose,’ a punishment invented by Thistlewood that spoke only of inhumanity.

“And he mentions a similar incident in 1756, his time in relation to a man he refers to as Punch. ‘Flogged Punch well, and then washed and rubbed salt pickle, lime juice and bird pepper. Made Negro Joe piss in his eyes and mouth’. I could go on, but you get the point.”

“When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance. She confirms if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, she would be the outstanding candidate”, he says.

Wow. Well, MSNBC did recently rebrand itself as, “what progressives have been waiting for”. Is that what you’ve been waiting for, progressives?

I guess pointing out that there have been, are, and will be other instances of slavery in this world besides that which was woven into the dark fabric of America’s early history is somehow in itself now politically incorrect enough to warrant that kind of deplorable comment? Because it’s not like a vast array of other empires and civilizations in human history haven’t instituted slavery in some form or fashion. I forgot that slavery began with America and completely ended with the American Civil War. Good to know! Hey Mr. Bashir, why don’t you explain that to the slaves who are currently building Dubai.

Here’s the video in case you just want to watch Bashir flush what scant amount of integrity he might have ever had as a journalist right down the toilet for yourself:

Following his suggestion that Palin deserved to have someone defecate and urinate in her mouth merely for having an opinion on the economic slavery anyone in America who isn’t part of the ultra elite is currently facing, many people voiced their outrage on social media outlets, complete with threats to boycott Bashir’s sponsors and calling for Bashir’s suspension. “@BashirLive @msnbc you must be proud to be the least professional and most sexist person employed on TV today,” said Whit Patrick, although Tim Stanley’s “Martin Bashir has jumped the shark, shot it, eaten it, thrown it up and then eaten it again,” might be my personal fav.

Sensing he had done a really asinine thing by saying something so revolting on air — oh no wait, what I meant to type was, “realizing his job as a progressive puppet might be on the line because he made his employers look even more mind numbingly vapid than they already were in the eyes of the entire TV viewing world,” Bashir retracted his statement and apologized the following week.
